Krook
Isn't the caliber of AT86 8,4cm? Yes, it is 8,4 cm but the "E-mark" isnt. /K
The Swede
Right! /Koskela These items are about 33mm dia, caliber is mentioned "20mm eldmarkptr 86" in Ammunitionskatalog? It's called "ELDMARKPTR 86" On the top of the page it says "20 mm eldmarkeringsvapen för pansarskott 86" but thats wrong. (Amkat 1 2001 page 56) The "Eldmarkeringsvapen" doesn't have a caliber since it doesn't have a barrel (Except for the main tube) @ Schmutte P-skott 86 has 84 mm caliber, thats correct but the discussion here is about the practice weapon. The Swede
Isn't the caliber of AT86 8,4cm? Yes, it is 8,4 cm but the "E-mark" isnt. /K Logical How come that the eldmarkptr is 33mm in dia? Why isn't it 86mm? Also an logical reason? Why not continue the discuss in swedish? Because it's inserted sideways in the breech and therefor can be any diameter, the caliber of the weapon is not an issue. Why english? Because the person who started the thread seems to be english speaking. The Swede
Schmutte
Aha.. right! What does the E-mark do? Is it just an exercise ammo or does it mark out the "enemy" with a flame och smoke or something like that? (Let's continue in english ) Edited March 26, 2007 by Schmutte

KD803
It's called "ELDMARKPTR 86" On the top of the page it says "20 mm eldmarkeringsvapen för pansarskott 86" but thats wrong. Are you talking about "Eldmarkeringsladdningen" or "Signaturladdningen"? Both are used with the "20mm övningsvapen" and "Eldmarkeringsladdningen" does have a caliber as it is basically the same as the 20 mm slövnprj without a projectile. Or is there a new "Eldmarkeringsvapen" out there? Edit: forget it, I got a "hjärnsläpp". Forgot that "Övningsvapen" and "Eldmarkeringsvapen" isn't the same. The 20 mm övningsvapen pskott 86 is something different and it came after the eldmarkeringsvapen. (SoldR Mtrl Vapen Pskott 86 page 32) As the name says the 20 mm övningsvapen has a barrel for 20 mm practice rounds. It can also fire blanks. The eldmarkeringsvapen only fires blanks. tinhead
If we got the right information a lite more then a week ago, the ELDMARKPTR 86 was needed for the BT system to register a hit. But that is just the case if you use BT (simfire) equipment?

You don't need any ELDMARK to register hits with the BT system. The BT-pskott uses another, smaller, type of Eldmark but works even without any eldmark. The reason to use eldmark with BT is to get a simulation of the real flash and bang from firing. The Swede
