  1. Formally, the Minister of National Defense assigns names to Polish ships. This occurs after receiving an official request from the Navy Inspectorate. Favorites from public votes are WILK, DZIK, ŻBIK and RYŚ (for gap-filler) and ORZEŁ, SĘP, BIELIK, JASTRZĄB, KONDOR for actual boats. Hope that helps! All the best from Warszawa, Andrzej
  2. Here is the article in which we are discussing the possible names for the new Polish submarines (you can use Google translate to read it): https://zielona.interia.pl/przyroda/zwierzeta/news-kot-kuna-a-moze-wydra-jak-nazwane-beda-nowe-polskie-okrety-p,nId,22502636 And here you will find result of the survey on the names for the new Polish vessels: https://defence24.pl/sily-zbrojne/orp-smok-czy-orp-nurek-czytelnicy-o-nazwach-nowych-okretow Hope you will enjoy the reading!
  3. Sorry for replying in English - I hope you don't mind. Above information is slightly incorrect. It is 23 years since a keel was laid in Stocznia Wojenna in Gdynia (PGZ Naval Shipyard) and not in Poland Keel for ŚLĄZAK was laid 23 years ago in 2001 (sic!) in then Stocznia Marynarki Wojennej (now Stocznia Wojenna). All ships of 258 project were laid down in Stocznia Remontowa (Remontowa Shipbuilding) in Gdańsk. Hope that helps! Andrzej
