Ytterligare div i beredskap på hemmaplan och 173:e(Airborne div) har en ansenlig styrka kvar för gruppering..
Jag tror inte att det finns en 173 Airborne Division. Den sa kallade 173:e Airborne Division ar inte en division, det var forut 173 Airborne Brigade, numera ardelar av den brigaden med i 101 Airborne Division.

History
The 2nd battalion, 101st Aviation traces its lineage to Troop E, 7th Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment, which was activated at Fort Bliss, TX, July 1, 1916. The unit was inactivated September 26, 1921, at Fort bliss and reconstituted as Troop C, 7th Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regt., May 4, 1959. The troop was assigned to 173rd Airborne Brigade, now the 3rd Brigade of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), March 26, 1963, and remained there until September 14, 1966, when it was assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division and served in Vietnam. On October 25, 1985, the unit as redesignated as 5th Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment. During this time, first divisional Apache battalion in the Army.
When 5th Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment was inactivated on August 14, 1987, it was reorganized as 1st Battalion, 3rd Aviation Regiment, which was released from duty with 3rd Infantry Division, Germany, and reassigned to the 2nd Armored Division, Fort Hood. The unit deployed to Southwest Asia in September 1990 where it was attached to Aviation Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division. The Battalion provided scout and attack aircraft to both divisional and allied troops in defense of Saudi Arabia and the liberation of Kuwait.
In August 1991, 1-3 AVN was moved to Ft. Campbell, Kentucky and redesignated as 2nd Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment; the “Eagle Warriors.” Since their relocation to Fort Campbell, the Eagle Warriors have contributed greatly to the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) as a member of each Brigade Combat Team, by providing fire and maneuver throughout the entire spectrum of the Air assault Battle Space.
In May 1998, the Second Battalion began its Longbow transition. The Eagle Warriors are privileged and honored to be the first AH-64D Longbow Attack Helicopter Battalion in the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), and in the XVIII Airborne Corps.
