How is it possible to keep a sharp edge on the Hemvarnets personel when its only a 60 H minimum training? With an average of 5 H per month, How do you keep a quality on your personel over time?

One answer to that is that the 20h minimum is a minimum and since the personel do this solely from personal interest they tend to spend quite alot more than 20h in uniform (extra exercises, specialty classes and so on) per year. However keeping quality isnt easy at one weekend a month either, but you should know that yourself (NG wasnt it).

As we've discussed in another thread, Hemvärnet is not to be compared with, for example, the US National Guard or the UK's Territorial Army - its mission is significantly more modest than that.

There actually is a member at the forum who is in the homeguard who also served in the U.S army. Dont know if he is in a 20, 30 or 60 hour platoon though.
