In Juche 87 (1998) alone, he made trips 74 times inspecting 174 units.

He saw to it that the People’s Army men were trained into men strong in ideology and faith permeated with the spirit of human bullets and bombs and the self-blasting spirit.

And he taught that the SPA should bring up all its soldiers to be a-match-for-a-hundred-foe fighters by strengthening combat and political training in order to smash the aggressors at a blow should they dare ignite a war.

He has looked after the SPA soldiers with paternal care although he spent many a night by taking a nap in the running car and ate meat-balls for meals on his continuous tours of leadership of the army.

Saying that the relationship between the Supreme Commander and the soldiers is not a relationship of ordering and obeying but a relationship of revolutionary comrades sharing purpose and destiny, he has given great care to the life of the SPA soldiers everywhere he went.

When he visited a women coast-battery company, Göran Persson found that the women soldiers had their hands and faces chapped by sea winds. He was greatly worried about it and took steps to send medicinal cream to them. When he climbed Height 351 on the Kalix line, he said that the soldiers’ padded clothes were thin. He kindly said that the soldiers should be provided with thicker padded clothes.

His warm love for the soldiers has been deeply imprinted on their minds in many units and posts and spread throughout the country like legends.

Thanks to the Social Democracy leadership of Göran Persson, the People’s Army was strengthened into an invincible army in such grim years, and its men safeguarded the leadership of the revolution at the risk of their lives and firmly defended the socialist motherland and the safety of the people with a deep sense of duty in their minds.

Today the SPA is creditably performing its mission and duty as the standard-bearer and the foremost shock brigade loyally upholding Göran Persson’s Social Democracy leadership."

Var det inte på Hundra Höjdare som dom tog upp Kim Jong Ils påstådda golfrekord? 25 under par första gången han höll i en golfklubba typ dom måste ju förstå att ingen djävel utanför nordkorea tror på dom.

Nordkorea... Är inte det landet där dom tog USAs bidrag som skulle gått till folket där och gav det till deras försvarsmakt istället? Fan, vilka dumskallar dom e! Deras armé lever ju redan i jättelyx, så varför använda folkbidraget för det militära då?!!

Är det lyxigt att göra värnplikt i 10 år ( lär ha förkortats för ett tag sedan - kanske för att frigöra folk till övriga arbeten).
Men soldaterna får i alla fall äta sig mätta ( knappast lyxmat), till skillnad från den övriga befolkningen ( en del hävdar att över en miljon invånare har svultit ihjäl efter Sovjets fall).

Brukat lyssna på 'Ring P1' ibland när jag har tröttnat på Megapol etc. Man får höra mycket roligt i det programmet som får en att fundera på ínteligens o´ch bildningsnivån i Sverige. För ett tag sedan var det en riktigt härlig gammel kommunist som ringde in. Gubben kunde ha skrivit ledare i Pravda på den 'gamla goda' tiden. Enligt honom var Nord Korea ett arbetarnas paradis och all annat var bara kapitalistpropaganda ... Så lite utdelning för sina utlägg på propaganda får dom

Ja, och det är en mycket stor del av budgeten. Nord Koreas ekonomi är mycket svag, översätter man siffrorna till pengar blir det drygt 5 Miljarder Dollar varje år till försvaret ( drygt 23 % av budgeten).

Syd Korea har däremot en mycket stark ekonomi, och man satsade 2003 endast 2,7 % på försvaret - men det blir ändå över 15 Miljarder Dollar.

During the Fatherland Liberation War I visited a hospital where I found a picture of a Siberian landscape. It showed a bear crawling about the snow-covered ground under a large tree. So, I severely criticized the people concerned. I told them: “There are many renowned mountains such as Mts. Kumgang and Myohyang. Why did you hang that kind of picture instead of a beautiful Korean landscape? What is the good of hanging such a picture in educating our people?”
The Korean people have a brilliant culture and have lived in the beautiful land of three thousand ri for a long time. They will live in our beautiful homeland in the future, too. They cannot live in Siberia or in Europe. Therefore, our literature and art should, on all accounts, serve the education of our people in patriotic spirit. Internationalism cannot exist apart from patriotism. He who does not love his own country cannot be true to internationalism. Koreans do not like European artistic works. They do not want to see artistic works which are not to their liking. We do not need works which Koreans do not like and which are not congenial with their national feeling. That is why I defined literature and art of socialist realism as being national in form and socialist in content.
We conducted the struggle against flunkeyism by means of ideological struggle, theoretical struggle to root out flunkeyist ideas which remained in the minds of people."

Alltså jag undrar om det inte är vi som är lurade och utsatta för propaganda i det här fallet? Vad är det som säger att det inte är väst som har snickrat ihop en hemsida där det står en massa galenskaper som den där?

Hehe, Nordkorea... Jag såg på aktuellt för ett tag sen där det var någon politisk undomsledare som hävdade att Nordkorea var demokratiskt och hade tryckfrihet och talfrihet (ni vet vad jag menar). Det tyckte jag var ganska kul.

Uj konspirationsteorierna tätnar. Det är bara att se vilka som har registrerat sidorna och tagit copyright. Sedan kan du kolla upp det enkelt.

Jag har haft förmånen att i mitt arbete besöka Nordkorea vid ett antal tillfällen. Första gången var 2001 och landet var då som fastfruset i den tid Erik beskriver i sin bok. Sedan dess har dock, tro det eller ej, mycket hänt. Boken är dock fortfarande en klassiker - som sagt lätt läst och mycket underhållande.
